About Us

Founded in 2015, Worcester Park Lions Netball Club is dedicated to fostering talent and sportsmanship, with an ethos based on kindness and competitive spirit.

League Matches

We have three teams playing at various levels in the Surrey and Kingston Netball Leagues, with the season running September through April. Meet our teams here!

TRAINING (outdoors & indoors): Monday evenings at Blenheim High School, Longmead Road, Epsom, Surrey, KT19 9BH

HOME MATCHES (outdoors): Saturdays at Malden Wanderers Cricket & Lawn Tennis Club, 20 Cambridge Ave, New Malden, KT3 4LE

Social Events

We're a friendly bunch! During the season, we enjoy team dinners and club socials, including Christmas drinks and the end-of-season awards party.

Each summer, we sign up to summer leagues and tournaments, locally and at the beach (Bournemouth and Dorset), as well as making other fun plans—like trips to watch netball at the Copperbox (Stratford), the Commonwealth Games (Birmingham 2022) and the Olympics (Glasgow 2026).

This week, an oppo asked me what my @elandr_sport netball trainers are like to play in. I didn’t have time to describe all the features but assured her I truly believe no one would regret buying a pair. HAPPY REAL BIRTHDAY TO US

Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the day our Club founder registered Worcester Park Lions as an official netball club.

And look how we've grown!

From 1 squad to 3, and from Division 9 to Prem D in Surrey and Divison 12 to Divison 1 in Kingston league all in just 10 years! Pretty good for a tiny town with just a high street, a train station and a few parks 😉.

Before I post pictures of our birthday I just wanted to celebrate these two teams, arch nemesies on the court but celebrating each other off it, and that is how netball is supposed to be!

Congratulations to @reigatenetballclub A for their champion title, our As have loved playing against you for so many seasons and being promoted together to Prem D is the cherry on the cake

Our last games of the season at home on our birthday 🏡🎂🎉

The Bs kicked us off with a great game against @guildford_netball_club C. They initially were down by about 5 goals but they soon changed gear and managed to win the first quarter by 1. As the game progressed Lions defence pulled out all the stops to try and interrupt all of guildfords attacks, recognised in all the defenders getting a Pp or Op award! The attack switched up their plays to keep Guildford guessing and keep the goals going in. LIONS WON 41-35. Finishing 3rd in Surrey League division 5 where they were promoted last season, Excellent progress!

The As had a huge game, but they had already secured promotion to PREM D so this game against @reigatenetballclub A was to decide the Champions of Surrey league Division 1. It's was an exhilarating game, the first quarter ended in a draw so it was still all to play for. Reigate took great advantage of tactical subs, pulling away by 6 at the end of the third quarter. Both teams had masses of supporters so the court side was LOUD! and the atmosphere was electric, the last quarter saw a huge push from Lions, closing the gap right up until the last whistle! The whistle sounded and it was all over, with Lions two goals down and Reigate victorious. Lions lost 40-42. Absolutely gutting. Congratulations to Reigate A on their well deserved Champion Title. See you in Prem D!

The Cs played @reigatenetballclub B, another excellent game with well matched teams and end to end action. Lions pulled ahead in the first and won it by 4. But Reigate weren't going to let it go that easy after watching their As triumph. They pushed hard and managed to get the scores equal at half time. So back to square one and all to play for! The third quarter was a battle, both teams giving it all and Lions were rewarded with a 1 goal lead, the last quarter saw a slight shift in Lions favour but the heat of the day was unforgiving. Both team fought til the end but Lions were victorious this time! LIONS WON 36-32
